Activities/Tours:To coordinate any tours or activities during your stay at The Villas at Red Frog Beach, please contact our Tour Coordinator at redfrogtours@gmail.com. Conservation FeeRed Frog Beach requires that guests are responsible for EXCESSIVE electric charges during their stay which varies depending on how much you use. Your rental price includes a standard amount of electricity required to run the villa, but if you go over the allotted amount, we have to charge you for the excess. We generate all the power on the island and so we ask our guests to pay for their electric usage as a conservation tactic. We have found that guests use about 60% less electricity when they are responsible for paying for their own excess usage and so we adopted this policy in order to conserve resources. We hope you understand this policy and support our efforts to be good to the environment which makes Red Frog such a special place. TransportationAround Bocas TownTaxis are available all over Bocas Town. They are clearly marked yellow trucks. Taxis are a great way to assist you in getting around town if you are arriving to Bocas with heavy luggage from the airport or the Almirante water taxi. However, if you are in town to enjoy the sites, the people, and the laid back ambiance, we suggest walking. Walking is the best way to catch the spirit of Bocas Town as the main street is along the waterfront. From Bocas Town to Isla Bastimentos & Red Frog Beach Rainforest ResortOne of our representatives can greet you at the Bocas del Toro airport when you arrive. To get from Bocas del Toro to Isla Bastimentos and the Red Frog Resort you can take a water taxi. There are several independent water taxis in Bocas Town and they are easy to find, prices vary. Enter at the public dock on the south side of Bastimentos, next to the Red Frog Marina. Your Villa Host can meet you there and you will go by golf cart to the Red Frog Villas (10 minute ride) Around Isla Bastimentos & The Villas at Red Frog BeachThe Red Frog Villas are situated on the hillside up from Turtle Beach. There are 30 villas completed and 12 in various phases of construction. The road in the lower villas is paved. The lower villas are closer to the beach and the higher villas are further to the beach but have more of an ocean view. All are a golf cart ride away from the Red Frog Beach, Red Frog Beach Activity Center, Turtle Beach, the public dock, marina, SPA, Kayukos Restaurant and tours, Bocas Bound Hostel, and Bastimentos Sky zipline canopy tour. There is hiking access to North Beach (Polo Beach), Playa Larga and the national park and rainforest. The villas are built in an area that was once a pasture, and are surrounded by rainforest. For specific transportation needs such as getting luggage to the dock or getting to your villa at night, you are welcome to call resort management and they will arrange ground transportation for you for a small fee. There is a $20 service charge for transportation after 10:00pm. Gratuities are welcome by our resort service team. NOTE: Because The Villas at Red Frog Beach are still under development, construction is ongoing around the resort premises however; we are doing all that we can to ensure that the construction should not interfere with your visit. Our rates are heavily discounted due to the ongoing construction. Passports:A valid passport is required for entry into Panama. Passports from the USA must be valid for at LEAST 3 months from your scheduled date of departure from Panama. Entry requirements vary depending on nationality- please ensure your documents are in order. WiFi internetWiFi internet has been installed in all rental villas; however signal/speed strength sometimes varies and internet outages are unpredictable. We do have internet most of the time, but we cannot guarantee internet service or refund in any way for technology difficulties. (IT support is hard to come by on an island off an island). Panama City:If you would like to organize any transfers or tours in Panama City, we highly recommend Carlos Carvallo as a guide/driver. He can be reached at: ccarvallo48@gmail.com or by phone: (+507) 6780 2290. He offers an excellent Panama Canal/Lake tour which can include a BBQ lunch on an island.
