Seeing the Panama Canal before or after your trip is a great idea. In 2014 Panama will be celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the canal. The museum at the Mira Flores Locks has a rooftop viewing area where you can watch the large container ships pass through the locks and it is located near the Albrook Airport.

Once your flight lands in Bocas town, you will take a very short taxi ride to the waterfront.
It is a 10-15 minutes boat ride from Bocas Town to Isla Bastimentos where Red Frog Beach is located. There are many water taxis in the area.
The boat ride from Bocas town to Red Frog will take you past the place where Columbus anchored and through unique mangrove eco-systems.

At check-in you receive a Jungle Cart at the Marina Village.

You will travel through a Nature Preserve to arrive at the Villa Resort. The roads are bumpy and try and spot a sloth or monkey in the trees.
The Villas are located in neighborhoods on a sloop above the beach that offer great views as you travel around in your Jungle Cart.
All the Villas have a pool.
The beach on the left is Turtle Beach that is below the Villas where you will stay. Turtle Beach is very private. The beach on the right is Red Frog Beach and it will have more day-visitors and Punta Lava restaurant is there.
Red Frog is NOT your typical resort. It is 1500 acres spread across a unique ecosystem that boarders the National Marine Park. The combination of lush forest and stunning beaches is what makes the island special.
