How deep is the Marina?
All of the existing marina slips have a depth of 25 - 30 feet. Right off the shore, the depth drops off quickly and will allow us to accommodate larger boats along the main walkways as well. As well, the entry channel to the marina is very deep and can reach over 18 feet making for an easy passage to our location.
How wide are the slips?
Our slips for boats sized around 40 feet are each 14.5 feet wide and dock fingers are 30 feet long. The slips for boats of 50 feet and larger are 17 feet wide and each dock finger is 36 feet long. These slips have been designed to fit most standard boat types.
How long is the main marina walkway?
The total length of the main walkway is 551 feet long (168 meters) and we will be able to accommodate yachts up to 120 ft along the outer side of the walkway.
How is the docking system secured?
The marina is anchored by an aluminum material that maximizes support and can handle winds at 50 MPH. The structure has been engineered to be slightly flexible and has a safety factor of 1.5 for the wind pressure. This system manufactured by Structure Marine has been used for over 30 years, and will provide excellent protection from the elements. In addition, the location of our marina in a protected mangrove cove gives us further stability. The waters around the marina are generally calm and glassy.
Where can I fill my boat up with fuel?
We are currently working to install a fueling station at the marina. In the mean time, you will be able to refuel at either Excel Carenero or the Bocas Yacht Club in the main area of Bocas town.
What utilities are available?
Metered electricity and potable water are being installed at the Marina and will be operational by Mid July of '09. In addition, we are working to provide bathroom and shower facilities shortly for our marina guests.
Are there haul-out facilities in the area?
The nearest haul-out facilities are in Colon and Las Minas. However, many people actually prefer to go to Cartagena, Colombia as there are three boat yards there and prices can be more reasonable.
Are there any dry storage facilities around Bocas Del Toro?
There are currently no dry storage facilities in Bocas.
Are there supplies available in Bocas?
There are a few supply stores in Bocas Town although the selection is very minimal. Most marine hardware and mechanical parts must be ordered from the US and shipped. As well, Kerosene is available in town.

Is there a bar or restaurant at the Marina?
Yes! We are proud of Kayukos Restaurant and Bar which is a 5 minute walk away.

What activities are there at the Marina?
Red Frog Beach is only a 10 minute walk from the docks and is said to be one of the nicest beaches in Panama. As well, there are many places to hike and explore around the island. Kayukos Restaurant / Island Lounge is the largest covered activity center in Bocas only 5 minutes from the Marina, and is the epicenter of many different activities.

How are the bugs at the Marina?
While Bocas has very few mosquitoes, sand flies called "chitras" are common around the area. These small gnats are most prevalent at dusk and dawn, but are easily mitigated with repellent. As well, they tend to stay close to shore so marina slip areas are less affected.
How far in advance can I reserve a guest slip?
We have no time limit; all is based on availability of the slips.
How can I get transportation to and from Bocas Town?
The Marina will have scheduled shuttles throughout the day which will be offered to our guests from Monday through Saturday. As well, there are companies that provide boat taxis which can be called if you require additional transportation to and from Bocas.
Do most places accept credit cards?
While some establishments here will take VISA or MasterCard, cash is always the best option here in Bocas and there are ATMs which will accept debit cards.
What is the climate like in Bocas?
To complement the beautiful water here (low 80's with high visibility), the average temperature in Bocas is approximately 82 degrees.
