Red Frog Beach Resort & Marina is a new island vacation destination located on Isla Bastimentos in Bocas del Toro, Panama. www.redfrogbeach.com

Thirty miles from the boarder of Costa Rica, the Caribbean beaches here are golden and kept hidden by canopy rainforest. Since Columbus sailed past here in 1502 very few people have been able to experience this enchanting island.

Until now.

Named for the small harmless bright red frogs found here, Red Frog Beach Rainforest Resort & Marina combines some of the top rated beaches in Central America along with a plethora of beach and rainforest activities for guests to experience. These natural amenities include an elaborate new zipline, kayaking, surfing, horseback riding, and a network of hiking trails on the resort that lead into the adjacent national park. The resort offers both beach and rainforest activity centers to take advantage of the variety of beaches, coves and rainforest canopy.

The abundance of activities is complimented by the upscale Villa accommodations that include a private pool. These vacation homes are one to four bedrooms built into the hillside with sweeping views of the Caribbean. Red Frog Beach currently has two restaurants, a deep water marina, an island spa, and boat taxi service to Bocas Town (15 min).

Costa Rica has been the most popular destination in Central America for many years partly because of the adventure it can offer. Vacation consumers are increasingly trying to find places that are unique, fun and offer more value. Less can be more when you consider hiking trails are more important to many of Red Frog’s guests than having a workout facility.

“We do not have a $50 million dollar lobby but it’s the amount of adventure and our connection with mother nature that sets this place apart” says Steve Bolton who is a investor and volunteer at the project, “Where else can you zipline through the rainforest, surf, enjoy the beach, fish, hike and also experience a Caribbean underground cave tour, all on the same vacation? If someone wants adventure in an exotic location—Isla Bastimentos is perfect”.

The vacation rentals range from $125 for a single bedroom in a Villatel to $600 for a private villa per night. These prices are discounted while there is limited construction and the resort plans its grand opening in late 2012. These Villas can sleep up to 7 people and are professionally furnished and decorated, full kitchen, and wifi. A resort service team can assist you in creating an activity schedule to choose from the endless amount of amenities that Bocas del Toro has to offer.
